Here is an update on the status of the flyover and a new completion date.

New Completion Date

The Shahkam Chowk flyover has been a project many years in the making. Initially, the government had issued the January 2022 deadline for the completion of the project. However, as the end of February approached, it became clear that the project would not be completed on time. The government then issued May 2022 as the new completion date.

Now that the month of May has passed and construction is still pending, they’ve announced a new date for completion that the project could take more than a month and a half to complete.

This newest delay is due to a number of factors. As a result, the people will have to wait a little longer to complete this much-needed Shahkam Chowk Flyover.

Latest Development Update:

For the previous few months, the Shahkam Chowk Flyover’s construction has been moving at a fast pace on Canal Road. The mega project is now in the final stage of completion. However, it has experienced several delays throughout the months for various reasons.

The primary reason for the delay in Shahkam Chowk Flyover’s construction is the acquisition of the 64 Kanal area near the project. The second reason is the defense road which is also under construction with a 5-6 km patch. The covering of the main drain has also delayed the project. The last reason is the huge and heavy traffic jams during the working hours. All of these reasons have led to a delay in the construction of the Shahkam Chowk Flyover.
